FCT Police storms kidnappers hideouts, arrests four, recover arms and ammunitions. …as Police proactively forestall intended attacks in the FCT on 1st October 2024.

Dayo Awoniyi The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the FCT Police Command on 1st October 2024, acting on credible intelligence, trailed and arrested four notorious kidnappers who have been terrorizing the Federal Capital Territory namely: YAU SANI, a.k.a. Baba (an ex-convict), NUHU, a.k.a. Giwa, KABIRU MOHAMMED, and YUSUF HASSAN, at their criminal hideout in Sauka, Abuja living within the general population. According to a statement released by  SP Josephine Adeh, The FCT Police Command  Public Relations Officer,th e suspects confessed to being responsible for series of kidnappings of unsuspecting residents in FCT and its environs, and  the killing of seven (7) victims in the process. According to her,thes gang have also attacked Dakwa, Dawaki, Aco estate, Dupe Village Zuma rock, Kuchiko village and some villages in Niger and Kaduna. The association expressed gratitude to the Honourable Minister of the FCT, the FCT Sports Council, and the people of FCT for their unwavering support. The AGM also commended the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau's leadership for providing a conducive environment for the association's activities. This acknowledgment highlights the collaborative spirit necessary for football development.   Community Action Through Sports (CATS) Ladies of Lagos State secured a 2-1 victory over Plateau United Queens to claim the first-ever Girls Play Sports Football Tournament title at the FIFA Goal Project, Abuja, on Sunday, September 29, 2024. Plateau United Queens, who qualified for the national finals as Northern champions, took the lead in the ninth minute through Agnes Otata. However, Southern champions CATS Ladies responded with two quick goals from Ebube Anyanwu in the 50th and 54th minutes, sealing their triumph as the inaugural champions. As champions, CATS Ladies received a cash prize of two million naira, while runners-up Plateau United Queens were awarded one million naira.       The Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee for the Federation’s Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen to continue in his role as Head Coach of the Super Eagles, and lead the team in its 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Libya next month.   The 58-year-old, in temporary charge of the squad he had led three times previously, steered the three-time African champions to a 3-0 defeat of Benin Republic and scoreless draw with Rwanda in Matchdays 1 and 2 earlier this month.   Eguavoen and the current technical crew that also includes Fidelis Ilechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Olatunji Baruwa and Tomaz Zorec will also take charge of the Super Eagles B team for the qualifying campaign for next year’s African Nations Championship, otherwise known as CHAN.   With the departure of Mr. Randy Waldrum, the Executive Committee also approved the recommendation of the Technical

    The highly anticipated final of the Northern Conference in the Girls Play Sports Football Tournament will see Plateau United Queens and Moje Queens Feeder Team go head-to-head for the regional title on Friday, September 27. In the semifinals on Thursday, which took place at the Old Parade Ground in Area 10, Abuja, Plateau United Queens secured their spot with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nazareth Queens of Abuja in the early kick off match. Moje Queens Feeder Team followed with an impressive 3-1 triumph over Adonai Taraba Queens to claim their place in the final. Friday's events will begin at 2 PM with the third-place match between Adonai Taraba Queens and Nazareth Queens, also set to take place at the Old Parade Ground.
