WELFARES OF DOWNTRODDEN ARE PARAMOUNT TO ME AND I WILL ALWAYS MAKE THEM SMILE~ ALHAJI YAHAYA ATTOM
Attom made this known during the fundraising dinner ceremony organized by Attom foundation to create awareness about the prevalent of eyes problems in Nigeria and world at large and how fund can be raised to support, care and alleviate the suffering of many people who are experiencing eyes problems but are not financially buoyant to take care of themselves.
Alhaji Attom, in his opening remark at the even said " Attom foundation have been helping less privilege most especially in giving them good education since 2018 and in 2024, we decided to take care of people that have eyes problems and we have treated not less than 2,500 people who are suffering from cataracts and other related eyes challenges "
He further said " Attom foundation is planning to do more by going to rural communities and locality and with the support of individuals, organizations and group of people, we can achieve this and put smiles on the faces of the victims "
Present at the occasion was the Deputy speaker of House Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who is also the founder of Benjamin Kalu Foundation, he commended the good work that Attom foundation is doing. He however said that estimated 24 million Nigerians are grabbing with eyes defects and this call for urgent attention.
Hon. Benjamin said " We need individuals and group of people to support in reducing eyes problems in Nigeria because government alone can not do it. I have sponsored the bill to establish National eyes centers in every geo political zones in Nigeria and I believe by the time National Assembly resume plenary in July, it will be given accelerated hearing.
He however appeal to people to support Attom foundation in this laudable project of restoring vision to people. Estimated of 1.13m Nigerians above the age of 40 years have been said to be blind and it's increasing on a daily basis, but with the steps taking by Attom foundation it can be reduced.
The event was attended by captains of industries, diplomatic corps, footballers, entertainers amongst others.
