In a shocking turn of events, two young individuals were apprehended by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ilorin, Kwara State. Khadijat Abdulraheem, a 24-year-old fresh graduate, and Ayomide Morakinyo, a 20-year-old student of the University of Ilorin, were arrested on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

The duo was caught red-handed at Tanke-University of Ilorin road, Oke Odo, Ilorin, following credible intelligence that they were producing and selling drug-laced cupcakes to unsuspecting students in the community. A thorough search of their apartment yielded incriminating evidence, including 42 pieces of DRŪGGS cakes.

The NDLEA's swift action has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the alarming trend of drug abuse among young people. The agency's efforts to curb the menace of substance abuse have been commendable, and this latest bust is a testament to their dedication.

As the investigation unfolds, the NDLEA is expected to take further action against the suspects, who face serious consequences for their actions. The agency's warning to those involved in the illicit drug trade is clear: they will be caught and brought to justice.
