Samuel Ikpefan to lead Nigeria to FIS Nordic World Ski Championship in Norway.

As Nigeria gets ready to participate in next months FIS Nordic World Ski Championship in Norway, Head of the Nigeria Ski Sports Association, Mr Olubunmi Gabriel has called for support and sponsorship from all quarters that will enable team Nigeria have a successful participation during the championship.


Gabriel Olubunmi is optimistic of Nigeria's chances of a podium finish at the world championship and has called on both the government and the private sector intervention for a good outing in and a dream tournament in Trondheim, which is the host city of this year's championship in Norway.


"We need corporate and private sector sponsorship to support our dream to have a good participation in this tournament. it is going to be a busy year for us in Ski Sports, and the support of every partnership will go a long way to help us achieve our dreams" 


Nigerian winter Olympian, and the captain of the Nigeria Ski Sports Association, Samuel Ikpefan, will be leading the delegation of the Nigerian team, and it's expected that his wealth of experience will come in handy to win laurels for the country at the upcoming event. 


The 2022 Beijing Olympic winter games cross-country skier will be competing with other capable and formidable athletes from across the world. 


The impact of PyeongChang 2018 Olympic winter games where Nigerian Athletes competed in Skeleton and bobsleigh has made the country to become accustomed to the games with Samuel Ikpefan the leading light, who will be taking it a notch higher to feature in the Nordic event, following his successful participation at the Beijing 2022 Olympic games.


The FIS Nordic World Ski Championship 2025 starts from February 26th - 9th March, in the city of Trondheim, Norway.
