Solid Miners Reload: Nasarawa United Signs 8 Top Players Ahead of NPFL Second Stanza

Nasarawa United Football Club has made a bold statement of intent ahead of the second stanza of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League Season, unveiling eight high-profile players at a press conference held at the Lafia City Stadium.


The new signings, who were officially introduced to the media, include central defender Benson Abbey from Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, left back Peace Dewan from Sunshine Stars of Akure, attacking midfielder Abubakar Aliyu from Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, central midfielder Solomon Chigozie from Kwara United FC of Ilorin, winger Peter Eneji, who rejoined from Busaiteen FC of Bahrain, centre forward Ugochukwu Leonard from Heartland FC of Owerri, winger Benjamin Jack from Golden Boot FC of Benin Republic, and winger Onyema Emmanuel from Ikorodu City FC of Lagos.


According to Club Chairman, Solomon Babanjah, the new signings are expected to bring a wealth of experience, skill, and determination to the squad, and will be available for selection for the team's first match of the second stanza against Katsina United on Saturday, January 25, 2025.


Babanjah expressed his delight at the new signings, stating that they are a major statement of intent from the club. "We are absolutely delighted to welcome these exceptional players to Nasarawa United FC. This is a major statement of intent from the Club, and we are confident that these signings will help us achieve our goals in the second stanza of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League Campaign."


Technical Director of Nasarawa United, Kabir Dogo, also expressed his excitement at the new signings, noting that they will be a turning point for the club. "We are so excited to see the impact these new signings will have on our squad this second segment of the league. We are very confident that they will help us to compete at the highest level and bring success to the Club."


The Solid Miners hope to unveil a few more players in the coming days before embarking on a close camping activity at a yet-to-be-disclosed venue.
