Wike Rewards FCT Athletes with millions for Outstanding performances.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has rewarded athletes who represented the FCT at the 21st edition of the National Sports Festival tagged "Delta 2022" and the 6th and 7th editions of the National Youth Games with handsome cash prizes.

This gesture was presented during the 13th edition of the FCT Sports Award ceremony in Abuja. Hon. Ibrahim Aminu, Mandate Secretary, Social Development Secretariat, FCT, commended the athletes' determination and aligning with President Bola Tinubu's renewed hope agenda, assured that the FCT will continue to support sports development 

Mrs. Olubunmi Oloowokere, Permanent Secretary, Social Development Secretary, praised Minister Wike and the State Minister for their contributions to sports development in FCT. She encouraged athletes to continue striving for excellence, promising that hard work will always be rewarded.

Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, Director of Reforms Coordination and Service Improvement Department, Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory Administration, celebrated the athletes' passion, commitment, and dedication. She also appreciated FCT leaders for their significant contributions to sports development.

The cash prizes awarded to the athletes were, Gold Medalists received 600,000/ 400,000 naira, Silver medalists received 300,000 naira while Bronze medalists received 200,000 thousand naira.

Similar prizes were awarded to gold, silver, and bronze medalists at the 7th National Youth Games.


Other dignitaries present acknowledged the athletes' efforts, encouraged them to continue striving for excellence, and appreciated the coaches for their training and discipline. The FCT cultural troops added to the excitement with entertaining rhythmic sounds.
