Nigeria to participate in the 96th International Miyasama Ski Games in Japan

A delegation of 7 athletes and 2 officials of the Nigeria Ski Sports Association are expected to depart the country for Japan to take part in this year's edition of the International Miyasama Ski Games, slated for Sapporo Shirahatayama, Japan. 


Speaking ahead of this championship, the head of the Nigeria Ski Sports Association, Mr Olubunmi Gabriel said they're excited to have been invited by the Japanese team of officials to participate in this championship. 


According to him, efforts have been geared towards the tournament, so as to have a positive outing, even as he envisage Nigeria being the first African country to win medals in winter Olympic games.


"Nigeria team have been invited to participate in an international Ski Championship in Japan, and we are making a lot of effort to participate not just in this one, but in several other tournaments ahead, like the world cup championship, especially the winter Olympics coming up in Italy"


"So we are looking forward to being the first African country to win medals in winter Olympics"


"This is our major dream, as 7 athletes and 2 officials will be leaving for Japan on the 24th of February including myself, we are training, we are preparing and we are hoping for the best for our team" Mr Olubunmi Gabriel stated.
