The Federal Capital Territory Grassroots Junior Judo Championship has brought together young athletes from six states in the North-Central zone, including FCT, Plateau, Niger, Kogi, Kwara, and Nasarawa.

Alhaji Mohammed Adam Mouktar, Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA), sponsored the event, emphasizing his commitment to discovering and nurturing untapped talent.

Mouktar highlighted the importance of grassroots sports development, stating, "This event is more than just a competition; it is a celebration of discipline, respect, courage, and the limitless potential of our youth."

He believes that investing in grassroots sports like Judo is an investment in Nigeria's future, adding, "Talent is everywhere but it needs the right opportunities to shine."

The championship, organized by the FCT Judo Association in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Youth and Sports Secretariat, FCT, and the Tichard Agbonifo Hand2Hand Foundation, aims to promote unity and empower young people to believe in themselves.

Mouktar encouraged the young Judokas, saying, "This is your day. Show your skills, your heart, and your determination. Every great champion started right where you are now."

Mouktar's sponsorship of the event demonstrates his dedication to supporting initiatives that give young athletes the chance to grow, compete, and become champions.

He thanked coaches, organizers, and parents for their dedication, noting that they are shaping the next generation of strong, disciplined, and focused Nigerians.

The event is a step towards building a brighter future for Nigerian sports, starting at the grassroots level.
