Paul Onuachu nears Trabzonspor return as Southampton slash valuation

By Dayo Awoniyi

Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu is on the verge of rejoining Turkish club Trabzonspor, with Southampton significantly reducing their valuation of the player.

Southampton, who were relegated to the English Championship, initially wanted €18 million for Onuachu, but have now lowered their asking price to €8 million.

Trabzonspor are believed to be willing to meet the English club halfway, with a potential transfer fee of around €6 million.

Onuachu, 30, had a phenomenal loan spell with Trabzonspor last season, scoring 17 goals in 22 appearances.

He expressed his desire to stay with the Turkish club, but a transfer fee agreement was initially elusive.

After returning to Southampton, Onuachu scored four goals in the Premier League, but the English club's relegation has paved the way for his potential return to Trabzonspor.
