  In a remarkable display of courage and commitment, Police Operatives attached to the Imo State Command successfully executed a daring rescue operation that led to the safe liberation of 4 kidnapped hostages. The operation was carried out on Saturday, January 4th, 2025, after the operatives received a distress call reporting the abduction of 4 persons in Umuokanne, Ohaji LGA, Imo State. The police operatives swiftly swung into action, locating the criminal hideout and engaging the kidnappers in a fierce gun-duel, during which 2 of the kidnappers were neutralized. The FCT FA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee has taken drastic measures against two coaches from Like-minds FC, recommending expulsion for Coach Luke Olaiya and an indefinite suspension for Meshach Olatunji. This decision follows an investigation into incidents that occurred before and after the November 30 by-election for the 1st vice-chairman position. Luke Olaiya's expulsion stems from being allegedly caught with a knife at the election venue, after previously reported threats to the life of FA Secretary Haruna Ilerika, alongside his principal Babatunde Bucknor. Meshach Olatunji received an indefinite suspension for similar offenses.   In line with National Sports Commission's catch-them-young disposition, the Commission has thrown its weight behind teenage tennis sensation Khadijat Eleojo Mohammed.  At only 15, Khadijat has proven to be the next big thing in Nigerian tennis. She became the first West or Central African player to win the ITF J30 World  Tour. Aged 14 in 2023, she is the first teenager to win the Dala Tennis, a title she retained this year. Way above her peers, she has even cracked it professionally with back-to-back Dala Hard Court titles.  The challenge now, is how to make that step to the next level considering the immense financial demands of professional tennis.
