  Team Lagos beat Team Oyo 43-33 to win the maiden edition of the 2024 Betking Wheelchair Basketball League League. The Wheelchair Basketball Fantastic Four Final was played at the indoor sports hall of Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja. Lagos beat Oyo in the first  quarter 15 to 13 points (two points difference). Upon resumption of the second quarter, Team Lagos continued their dominance by securing a five point difference 25 to 20 points. Lagos made use of their opportunities in the third quarter making vital two points and three pointers, taking the quarter by 33 to 26 points. The fourth quarter ended 43 to 33 points with Lagos lifting the trophy.   Following the recent unrest at Banex Plaza in Wuse, Abuja, on Saturday 18 May 2024, by yet to be identified hoodlums who launched a brutal attack on some Nigerian Army personnel, a swift  intervention by soldiers and policemen on internal security duties salvaged the situation and rescued the attacked personnel from being lynched  by the hoodlums. It is important to note that the soldiers attacked were unarmed, did not engage in any form of aggression, and posed no threat to anyone. Therefore, the cruel treatment meted out to them was entirely unwarranted and unjustifiable.   Detectives of the State Criminal Investigative Department (SCID), Lagos State Police Command, have arrested one Chimereze Chinedu 'm' for defrauding a citizen of Thailand of the sum of Two Hundred and Sixteen Thousand Dollars.  Chimereze defrauded his victim under the pretense of selling 37 tricycles to her.   The winners of the recently concluded President Bola Tinubu U-18 Boys Peace Soccer tournament which was organized by YSFON, have been invited to this year's international youth tournament in Norway.  Mustapha Allah-dey, National Vice President of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, YSFON said this in an interview with Katsina State SWAN Chairman shortly after this year's tournament in Katsina.  Mustapha Allah-dey revealed that the three best teams were chosen for their remarkable performance in the just concluded event.  The International Youths Soccer competition is scheduled to take place in Norway from July to August 2024, scouts and football agents will be on ground to select the best among them.
